Salvage Medical Association
Framework in development

A transparent assessment process.

Agreed scope, documented evidence and clear findings. A developing framework focused on practical improvement in operational medical readiness.

Four stages

From requirements to follow-through.

  1. 01

    Scope.

Define the operation, assessment criteria and required evidence.

  2. 02

    Review.

Examine documentation, competence records and operational arrangements.

  3. 03

    Evaluate.

Assess evidence, identify gaps and document findings.

  4. 04

    Improve.

Agree corrective actions and arrange follow-up where required.

Continuous improvement

Readiness is an ongoing commitment.

SMA is developing support for reassessment, action tracking, exercises, lessons learned and periodic reviews. Follow-up requirements and deliverables would be agreed with the client, reflecting operational changes and the findings of the initial assessment.

  • Reassessment against agreed criteria
  • Corrective action tracking and evidence review
  • Emergency exercises and operational learning
  • Periodic review of medical arrangements

Future certification governance

Independence must be designed in.

Formal certification is not currently offered. Any future function would operate separately from consultancy, with defined responsibilities and safeguards for impartial assessment and independent decisions.

  • Documented, transparent assessment criteria
  • Impartial assessment and conflict-of-interest safeguards
  • Independent certification decisions
  • Documented complaints and appeals procedures
  • Defined suspension procedures
  • Defined withdrawal procedures

Consultancy, readiness assessment and training do not confer certification. Purchasing consultancy would never guarantee a certification decision.
