SMA Standards Framework
A structured approach to medical preparedness in salvage.
SMA is developing a risk-based framework intended to help salvage operators and medical providers evaluate medical preparedness, clinical governance and emergency response capability.
About the framework
Complementary, not a substitute.
The framework is intended to complement applicable legislation, established maritime requirements and recognised professional guidance. It does not replace statutory obligations or professional clinical judgement.
All standards below are draft concepts. Identifiers are working references only and are not registered or established standards.
Proposed standard series
SMA-MED series.
