Standards consultation
Have your say on draft standards.
SMA's standards and guidance are developed in the open. When drafts are published, anyone with relevant experience — clinicians, operators, insurers, trainers — can submit comments through the secure process below.
How it works
A transparent, four-step process.
Consultation is how draft documents become better documents. The process is designed to be accessible, confidential and accountable.
- 01
Draft published for comment.
When a draft standard or guidance document is ready, it will be published here with its scope, a consultation timeline and the questions SMA is asking.
- 02
Stakeholders respond.
Comments are submitted through the secure form below. You can comment on specific clauses, suggest wording or provide supporting evidence.
- 03
Feedback is reviewed.
Every submission is read and considered by the relevant technical group. Comments and contact details are never published without consent.
- 04
Outcomes are summarised.
An anonymised summary of the feedback received — and how it was addressed — will be published alongside the revised document.
Submit comments
Comment on a draft or proposal.
No live consultation is open yet, but you can register comments or register your interest in being notified when the first draft is published.
Submissions are stored securely and are visible only to the SMA team administering the consultation. Contact details and unpublished comments are never published; any public summary of feedback is anonymised.
